JLR SDD (Symptom Driven Diagnostics) is the official, dealer-level diagnostic software application developed by Jaguar Land Rover for use with their vehicles. It is designed to assist professional mechanics and technicians in efficiently identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues in Jaguar and Land Rover models manufactured between approximately 2005 and 2017.
Key Functions and Features
JLR SDD offers a comprehensive suite of diagnostic and programming functions:
- Symptom-Driven Analysis:Â Unlike generic code readers, SDD uses a guided, symptom-driven approach. The user inputs the vehicle’s symptoms, and the software then analyzes fault codes and recommends potential solutions and repair steps in order of likelihood.

Vehicle Compatibility
JLR SDD software is used for most Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles from the 2005 model year up to the 2016/2017 model year. For newer models manufactured from 2017 onwards, Jaguar Land Rover transitioned to a different diagnostic platform called JLR Pathfinder software, which requires a specialized JLR DoIP VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) device.
